Hokum - No Escape

I did not know the band HOKUM from Munich until I recently listened to their first release and they really convinced me. Their mixture between Death, Thrash and Prog Metal got me really addicted. They deliver a load of pure quality. At the same time it is not too complicated so that the SLAYER, RAZOR or SODOM fan could not follow anymore. No, we get diverse super riffs, some cool bass runnings and breaks and stop–and–go parts are discharged en masse.

Besides: The accuracy of the songs is more than just impressive. It is really fun to headbang to these unbelievable lecherous pieces of Metal. Everything sounds so fresh and rousing and not so constructed. They write complex songs because they just come out of them. Nothing sounds forced and “The Flow” will pack you all, well, that is what I felt. So it is really worth to get these eight Euros and to send them. You will get a well presented and nice produced self – production from one of the best newcomer band from Germany. (Online May 11, 2006)
