It's been a long while since we heard from Jim Durkin (Ex-DARK ANGEL guitarist) and company. A lot has happened since their debut full length. First off, the former label that they were on Necropolis Records has folded and is taking a nice dirt nap. Secondly, vocalist Charlie Silva out has been served his walking papers and now Nuclear Blast publicist former Century Media publicist Loana Valencia is at the helm and all I have to say about her is that she can no doubt give Angela Gossow of ARCH ENEMY fame a run for her money.
"Kill For Peace" is a strong and solid opener with plenty of classic 80's Thrash riffs that run rampant on the track. The skins are begging for mercy as Miguel beats them into submission. As far as Loana's vocal skills go, she can growl with the best of them. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that she was a dude. The lyrics here are merciless as they take aim at war which is clearly detailed on the title. Moving on, "Beyond Salvation" starts out with tribal drumming before the gang goes more for a mid paced tune that features some serious shredding of the vocal chords. The guitar solos are fat and deadly with disastrous results. Basically, each track gets more ferocious than the next and refuses to let up.
There aren't too many melodies thrown in the compositions to soften the blow so, if you get this then you better be old school or capable of handling pain because this is the bomb. (Online May 22, 2006)
