Scarecrow - Deadcrow

Wow, this is pure energetic Thrashcore. A fucking bastard of THE ACCÜSED, CRUMSUCKERS and POISON IDEA should be correct, if you want me to find comparisons for SCARECROW… They are from Finland and nicely anti-social, but they do kick ass and don’t care about any trendy styles.

This sounds damn old-school, like in the old days, when terms like “Metalcore” weren’t yet part of the vocabulary of a fan who loved the mixture between aggressive Hardcore Punk and Metal. Here you get 13 ripping and smoking mosh tracks full of energy, dirt and power. The pleasure of playing is so captivating and straight-forward that it’s hard to stay unmoved. There is concerted bawling and loads of speed, the double bass is roaring, the snare hammering and the guitars have a strong Crust edge to them, but nice Metal riffs are used as well. You get stop and go parts until you drop, here.

During the super-fast “Murder” you are even reminded of the cult “Dirty Rotten” EP by noise pioneers DIRTY ROTTEN IMBECILES (in short: D.R.I.), those were the days. Those good old times seem to return with this disc. Even though it’s just for half an hour. Cult! (Online July 22, 2006)
