Mona For Now - Kiss My Fetus

What a great title for an EP! I rather expected some kind of Grindcore band to be honest. But MONA FOR NOW (also a strange band name, isn't it?) are more an Alternative Metal respectively Crossover act.

According to the info sheet, MONA FOR NOW are inspired by bands like PANTERA, SYSTEM OF A DOWN and GUANO APES. The two latter are understandable in my opinion but apart from a few heav riffs here and there I can't make out any PANTERA influences. I also have to say that I'm not really into their song material. Maybe it's the watered-down sound or the too quiet female voice, maybe it's also due to the average song material. This music would have encouraged some skaters or snowboarders ten years ago but I'm asking myself to whom this will appeal today.

After some spins, it's only "Election Day" that really appeals to me and that's not much. It's up to you if you want to give them a chance but I can't really give a recommendation. One point for "Election Day" and one for the weird (but creative) album title.

Check out tip: to name at least one track, it would be "Election Day".
