Eternal Gray - Kindless
The band-name somehow sounds Gothic, doesn't it? But it isn't, rather Death Metal and great one for that! Not that ultra-brutal bashing, which sounds totally disharmonic and doesn't convey anything but aggression. No, ETERNAL GRAY are rather members of the more demanding melodies of Death!

Their sound is produced fat and modern, has many nuances, the riffs are very thought-through and precise. Varied and all-crushing the songs hit right where it hurts. That the band comes from Israel was a real surprise to me! They do not cite MORBID ANGEL in every line, it all rather sounds more European and more reminds of the latest release of CALLENISH CIRCLE, as far as the many facets and the punch go.

Apart from that ETERNAL GRAY do their thing and should not only satisfy die-hard Death Metal-freaks. The majority of the songs is in mid-tempo, but still has enough room for some well-placed blasts!

Checkout-tips: The great "Flesh Cycles" or the oriental influenced "The Unbelievers Die". (Online August 1, 2002)
