BELPHEGOR shock me, because the new album is even better and more perfect than the absolutely incredible previous effort “Goatreich–Fleshcult“. Incredibly precise and hellishly brutal these Austrians serve us with a CD that I can only call fantastic. The gorgeous opener “Belphegor – Hell’s Ambassador“ with its oriental riffing, even NILE can’t compete with this. Or take the absolutely majestic Black Metal inferno “Seyn Todt In Schwartz“, incredibly divine. Reminds me of the genius of DISSECTION, no kidding.

“Angel Of Retribution“ leads into Doom regions and sounds absolutely menacing and it continues hit after hit. To describe every song here would be too much, everything is excellent and definitely is among the best this genre has to offer. Who thinks that songs with German lyrics are ridiculous will be taught a lesson here. How Hellmuth & co. utilize them demands respect and that from me, who does not like German lyrics in Metal! The ideas, the brilliance and malignity are terrifyingly good!

Together with NECROPHONIC BELPHEGOR are the uncrowned damned kings of blackened Death Metal for me and will unite Death Metal freaks and Blackies!
