Nitrolyt - Hollywood Death Scene

That NITROLYT from Leipzig were founded anno 2002 as a METALLICA cover band, is no more audible at their new, self-produced album "Hollywood Death Scene“. At least, if you’re considering METALLICA of the 80es – those were the only albums, which deserve this name! Anyway, NITROLYT aren’t pulling the pedal to the medal throughout this album and for my taste there is a little lack of decapitating riffs, which you can find nowadays in bands like LEGION OF THE DAMNED, AMON AMARTH and SACRED STEEL.

But I believe that it isn’t the way NITROLYT want to sound. Far from it! Here the things are going mostly calm and progressive. Slow and depressing to speedy played – that’s what makes the difference at “Hollywood Death Scene”. The songs’ quality ranges from bad to good. But I don’t really dig, what the East Germans are producing here. The seven pieces seem to be glutted with breaks and solos. Two live songs were packed onto this disc to revaluate the whole thing.
