Brainfever - Face To Face

"Face To Face" from the German Metal band BRAINFEVER is old as the hills as well as brand new. How this works? That's easy: the LP was already released in 1985 on Earthshaker Records and Cult Metal Classics (Sonic Age Records) have finally pressed it on CD. The packaging of it isn't overly beautiful but in the end, it's only the music that counts, isn't it?

The music is still after 20 years absolutely amazing. It still sounds refreshing and anything but aged. I guess, this is something timeless. Does anybody remember AXEL RUDI PELL's former band STEELER? Really? Then you should immediately grap a copy of "Face To Face" though BRAINFEVER are a bit more furious.

Or let's say it like this: similar to JUDAS PRIEST, the songs are very catchy but they never got boring. This is also a record where the bass isn't only hinted, it can be fully heard. This is especially working on a track like "Memories Of Tomorrow", where the bass line reminds me of "Heaven & Hell" from BLACK SABBATH. But the majority of the material is held in uptempo and perfect to bang along. The melodies wear a little MAIDEN touch, so the songs are really memorable without utilizing any of that infamous pompous elements.

I would be surprised if any True Metal maniac wouldn't be enchanted by this piece of music. This is pure steel, deserving your attention.
