Knell, The - Harm

Israeli THE KNELL have already been around for nine years and only now Totalrust Music release their debut album. “Harm” is the title of it and it is very hard to digest and bristlier than a porcupine. Let’s call it Doom Death Metal and fans of this genre should be listening in, EVOKEN, THERGOTHON, UNHOLY or BEYOND BELIEF are names that come to mind.

Unfortunately there is only one really outstanding song on the album with “Jerusalem Frost", the rest is menacing and typical for the genre, but just pitter-patters by. Maybe because I prefer the Doom variant with clear vocals and am not a big fan of the growls? I’m not sure, genre freaks probably will completely disagree…
