Power Metal from Spain again, has anybody left the door open? It is just impressive what comes up from Spain at the moment and that reminds me of Italy a few years ago when uncountable bands came from there, mostly Power Metal bands, too.
So, VALHALLA are a representative of the New Wave Of Spanish Power Metal and I expected an average product, but the first notes of "Ride Of Norsemen" after "The Awakening" hit me like a hammer. Great Power Metal with heavy guitars, very good vocals, great choirs and no "STRATOGAMMAWEEN" influences. Okay, a little bit of that, but it is well integrated, so one can't blame VALHALLA as a clone!
A song like that or the great, super epic "Resurrection (Shadow Of The King Part II)", the suitably titled "Egypt" (musically, Egypt seems to be very "in" at the moment) are all of my favor and this should also be for every Power Metal fan too, no matter if there's a big wave or not!
The facts, that the cover is designed by Derek Riggs and the production is very good, should show the Power Metal fans, that they shouldn't miss this record!
