ADX - Execution

When people talk about French steel, almost everybody mentions ADX and their two albums “La Terreur“ and “Suprematie”. I personally would rather recommend their debut “Execution”, because it is a lot catchier than the two equally excellent follow-ups.

“Execution” contains finest Heavy Metal that was not only one of the best of Europe, but should have caused waves worldwide! Should! But it hasn’t. In their home country ADX were something like gods, but that was about it. One obstacle surely has been the French language, the next one a lack of distribution. So exactly the problems that hundreds of other bands also experience.

And you should definitely know this CD, ultra hymns such as the very fast opener “Deésse Du Crime“ with its squirrely riff attacks lets your neck muscles jump, reminds me a lot of RIOT’s “Thundersteel”, just that the Frenchies have had this song way before. And the grooving “L’Etranger” with its extremely cool, pumping bass is the smash hit of the album. If this was the only song I could listen to for the rest of my life, I would not complain!!! Especially towards the end the CD gains momentum and throws one brick after the other at the listener’s banging skull. Just take “Caligula” that should be any maniac’s best fix.

No song is boring, I would like to point out „Priére De Satan“, which alternates between epic drama and nice speed. Who loves the 80s and bands such as the already mentioned RIOT, rougher SAXON and IRON MAIDEN, will celebrate this album.
