In terms of sound and playing technique perfect, it offers a journey through their Black Metallic works so far, where the new album "IX Equilibrium" is heavily under-represented, in my opinion. EMPEROR-fans have to get this one, because it features a slightly boring, but still very amusing video-track of "I Am The Black Wizards", where mainly the master himself is walking across the stage, wearing a "nice" white EMPEROR-longsleeve. Allegedly there should also be a screen-saver for Mac and PC on it, but the Mac-saver didn't work (I didn't try too hard, too).
What leaves a bitter taste is the careless compilation of the tracks (just listen to the song-enfings), the absolutely "charismatic" introductions and the non-existent live-atmosphere. Live-albums live off the non-perfection and the introductions of the frontman or the frontmen. I know that Black Metal-purists will cry out now, but have you heard "Alive" by KISS? THAT is live-atmosphere.
The obligatory conclusion is: For EMPEROR-fans (and believe it or not, this includes me) essential, all others should check it out first.
