With "Moon In The Scorpio", that had been released in 1996, LIMBONIC ART had impressed many people, due to their Wagnerian style, that put together almost classical melodies with hateful Black Metal vocals and guitars. Everything kept on going well with the next two albums, and there came the first accident with "Ad Noctum, Dynasty Of Death", way more minimalist, and close to some kind of true Black Metal with keyboards (as if that could exist...).
So we were expecting to see how "The Ultimate Death Worship" would turn out. Well, sorry, but LIMBONIC ART persist in going the same way, and it looks like the 1996-1999 era is way behind them. Now, the duo Daemon - Morfeus is more into guitars (not so bad as that by the way), and relegate their keyboards on the second or even third background. In addition to that, on some tracks, the keyboards sound as good as mobile phones, which is ridiculous...
All in all, this gives a Black Metal album that's far from being great, and not worth of such a band in which so many hopes had been put. A compilation of previously unreleased tracks would have been better. (Online October 29, 2002)
