Recueil Morbide - Hurt By Human Race
RECUEIL MORBIDE. If that's not a lame name for a band, then I don't know what is… But sometimes, behind an ugly name can be found a good band. And that's the case here with this young French band that is definitely not the best ever, but whose "Hurt By Human Race" is damn good!

For such a small band, you will be surprised by the quality of the sound and the high level of the drummer, who is so fast that I wonder if he's not assisted by a drum machine. Musically speaking, RECUEIL MORBIDE are into violent American Death Metal, with the basic influences that are MORBID ANGEL and so on. But there are also some big touches of Grindcore (with two different voices), as well as some black touches here and there. Concerning lyrics, they're not the most intelligent ever, but at least they're honest.

A proof of that is the chorus of "Tas De Chiennes" who will remind you that us guys, though we pretend to be nice, have a huge tendency to think with our cock. So, this is quite good stuff! (Online October 30, 2002)
