I just about had to kill someone before I could actually get this release from these bunch of young Swedes. Being that the record company has gone bankrupt and the band broke up weeks after its release, it was nearly impossible to obtain. But I eventually tracked it down and I'm very happy for that, because enclosed in "The Hunter" is a masterpiece of 80's Thrash and Germanic Power Metal.
PERSUADER is the example of the natural progression that the 80's Bay-area-sound would take if it was played by a bunch of guys that grew up listening to melodic Power Metal-bands like HELLOWEEN. Similar material to METALLICA of old, but played and recorded with a hurried, violent, Punk-infested feel that threatens to rip your heart out.
The band weaves tales that span Prog, Speed, ultra-heavy yet melodic thrashy (wow!) Power Metal-arrangements that make you beg for more. Song after song simply waste the place, sent above the clouds by soaring vocals and duelling axework, a simply amazing rhythm section, speeding songs up then slowing them down, everything your instructor told you not to do. One of those rare bands with a sound all their own.
This is a wonderful creation from a Scandinavian killing machine called PERSUADER. I can't believe internal problems could cause this band to break up after only one simply amazing piece of Metal-bliss. Rock out dudes.
This blizzard of ice awaits.
