Remember what 80's American Power Metal sounded like? Well, this 4 piece from New York want you to never forget where the power of Metal came from. The band carries the 80's sound in which they were obviously influenced by the likes LIEGE LORD, HELSTAR, WARLORD and the like.
George's vocals seem to have that James Rivera feel along with his screams, but he is original enough to not copy his influences note for note. ZANDELLE is packed with power and it shows on "Warlords Of Steel". Bob Delmini's drumming is so quick, you would think that he would skip a note or two, but is on target and is very graceful with his talent. The guitar work that is provided has a harsher and dirtier feel than most Power Metal bands provide which would almost make the CD sound a bit unpolished.
Yeah, the guitars give the band a bit of a raw feeling mixed with killer melodies which intertwines very nicely. ZANDELLE knows where their roots lay and they don't hide it what so ever. They are capable of mixing the old with the new without sounding dated.
The only thing is that if ZANDELLE was served up in the 80's with the likes of HEATHEN, LIEGE LORD and such, they would have felt more at home...then.
