Deathwish - Demon Preacher
Most of you will surely know the DIMMU BORGIR Norway T-Shirt with the horned skull, wearing many chains around. Great motive, isn't it? The first time I saw this picture was at the cover artwork of the Isle Thrashers DEATHWISH. Since that point, I am hunting for this record like the devil for a poor soul.

Sometime, I came to the point, I didn't believe to get this record, suddenly the CD came out of the blue. The artwork is great but the content too! Pretty fast Speed/Thrash of a catchy sort; not as unleashed as KREATOR's "Endless Pain" and also not as brutal as DARK ANGEL's "Darkness Descends", it's more in the direction of "Kill 'Em All" (METALLICA) and "Feel The Fire" (OVERKILL). Also their compatriots ONSLAUGHT must be influences for them.

Take songs like the title track, ennobled by some staccato Riff tirades, the pretty fast "Carrion", ennobled by aimed slower parts and great guitar solos, the straight forward driving "Wall Of Lies" or the slow starting and then pretty growing "Visions Of Sanity".

So: Fire at will! (don't take this not too exactly, I'm a little bit confused). But in such times, we have a lot of sweetish Melodics, Nu Metal idiots and wannabe evils, this band is balm for your ears. (Online November 21, 2002)
