Overall the Brits have stayed true to their Doom Metal. A lot, though, sounds darker and even more desperate than usual. Musical coldness? Nah, they still include enough tense, melodic passages to avoid drifting off into pure negativity. The heavier parts are a great contrast to the emotionally involving, calmer passages.
Especially this interplay of arousal and release sounds very relaxing and has potential! In the end it doesn’t make any difference, if there are more or less growls, because everything fits and is in line with THE PROPHECY’s style. For fans of MY DYING BRIDE over OPETH up to PRIMORDIAL definitely an album that you should have an eye on.
