"Sahara" already had been very good, but "El Norra Alila" even tops that one by quite a bit. The mixture from Israeli/Arabic folklore, Death Metal and other influences has been refined and again has turned out to be an extraordinary acoustic titbit.
Already the opening "Find Yourself, Discover God" combines Metal with the oriental and Israeli melodies and varies it so excellently that you are immediately under the spell of ORPHANED LAND. "Thee By The Father I Pray" is the next highlight, rather slow-paced, but with elegantly implemented folklore-parts, which greatly contrast with the Metal-passages and the partly deathy voice.
Also the following "Joy" is worth mentioning. Starting out as an instrumental, the middle part features an highly melodic part with folkloristic vocals, which then is also supported by mid-paced double-bass and an electric guitar, great!
But the best is yet to come: the (unfortunately only) 2:22 minute-long "El Meod Na'Ala", which is the Folklore Metal-version of a traditional tune and just is the icing on the cake!
Give this band a chance!
