I can't think of too many top-drawer Metal bands from Portugal but if there is any justice in the world then EVIDENCE should be a big name in the European Melodic and Hard Rock playing field.
"Spiral", the bands second album after 2000's "Truth From A Lie" is a glorious celebration of by gone Metal days infused with layers of supremely crafted Hard Rock. Taking in such wide ranging influences as SCORPIANS, BON JOVI, JADED HEART, HORIZON and deft touches of SAVATAGE on occasions EVIDENCE have turned in a gem of an album complete with huge choruses and catchy licks.
Songs such as the opener "Line Of Fire", the awesome "Promised Land", "Desperation" and the classy "Chances" are going to have the big boys running for cover! EVIDENCE has a swagger, a confidence and an array of top quality songs to back it all up.
Vocalist Sérgio Sabino is energetic a cross between Sebastian Bach, Jon Bon Jovi and Klaus Meine giving EVIDENCE a unique and charismatic focal point. Guitarist Vasco Martins is solid and works his tight rhythm playing into some superb solo runs most notable in "Promised Land" and the title track itself.
Fresh and vibrant and most importantly damn good. What you waiting for? (Online May 17, 2003)
