Here they are again, the Swedish bludgeons of DEFLESHED. They already served us three first-class, fast albums, "Abrah Cadavra", "Under The Blade" and "Fast Forward" and now they have "Royal Straight Flesh". In fact, the guys around drum monster Matte Modin are really straight. And the royally guitars of riffmaster Lars Löfven are a hallmark, too.
Basically, DEFLESHED have the AC/DC syndrome - do you know one of their records, you will now all their records. Although the band can't reach their classic "Under The Blade". But enough with that! Who wants to listen to pretty fast Death Metal and to bang his head bloody will be pleased with this record. Personally, I think it's positive that this "noise" is finished in nearly half a hour... For my part, I put a neck wristband on and relax with a RUSH-hour. (Online January 20, 2003)
