The first Death Metal highlight of this young year comes from the Dutch GOD DETHRONED and is "Into The Lungs Of Hell" titled. Many things have changed on the midwhile fifth album of the dedicated Christian enemies.
Well, the songs are written with an better accessibility but without missing the GOD DETHRONED-typical rapidness and brutality. The new hymns are full of strong melodies, still keeping up the aggression level of their previous works.
Roughly spoken, the CD sounds a bit of an angry bastard of IMPALED NAZARENEs "Absence Of War Doesn't Mean Peace" and the ingenious AMORPHIS' "Tales From The Thousand Lakes" album in 1994. The rule for Melodic Death Metal records got very much higer with that album.
It's remarkable how the Dutch can improve with every album and not one second bores us. Shortly said: Melodic Death Metal maniacs must bounce into the local record shops and have to buy this monster. (Online April 16, 2003)
