Event - Scratching At The Surface
EVENT come back with an album that is about as unique as anything. The question is will you take to it.

These Prog Rockers have gone one step further and pretty much sacrificed their Prog sound for more of an Electronic/Alternative Rock sound and I am not too impressed with it. "Make Your Way" is hard rocking, but I don't find it too catchy and filled with an electronic atmosphere that seems to feel out of place.

"Under My Skin" is more mid tempo with the singing more along the lines of an old GALACTIC COWBOYS album. I understand that if you want to go commercial then do it. I don't have a problem with that. I am open to bands who want to explore new avenues, but when the commercial stuff is not that catchy, I don't know what to say.

The more I hear the CD, the less interested I am in it and I just want to shut it off. This is not simply for me. (Online April 3, 2003)
