It took a long time until I could finally hold the third full album of NAGLFAR in my hands. And it definitely was worth waiting. The new songs are an increase in all areas and are just perfectly structured. The hefty parts are heftier, the melodic parts are more melodic than before.
The guitarwork is completely stellar and can be counted among the best of Black/Death Metal. The duo Marcus Norman/Andreas Nilsson are true wizards of their craft. They manage to express the Nordic coldness through their riffs. Just as masterfully is the evil screeching of Jens Rydén, who reminds me a bit of Nagash of DIMMU BORGIR. Add to that the incredibly precise berserker-drumming of Mattias Grahn and the bass of Kristoffer Olivius closes even the smallest hole in this wall of sound.
Here you get hacked, dismembered and nailed that you could shit your pants in fear. Every note has its place, a black symphony of death, on the highest level. The intense songs already now are cult and very variable. I am sure that this will once be an immortal milestone of Black/Death Metals like DISSECTION's "Storm Of The Lights Bane" or "Blaze In The Northern Sky" of DARKTHRONE. To die for!
