First of all, I do have to admit that I laughed for a good while after reading COPROFAGO's English translation of their name in the history on their homepage. Thankfully, I've learned to never automatically reject a band just because of their name.
Only a few tracks into "Genesis" I had my mind made up that this album was nothing, and I mean NOTHING short of incredible. Underneath the brutal vocals and fretless bass, you have passages that contain apparent elements of Jazz, which mix in nicely to devise the mood of the album.
"Genesis", for me was a great introduction into the world of COPROFAGO. I highly recommend it for first time listeners! It has definitely left me wanting to hear more out of this band, and I know I'll waste no time in doing so. (Online April 25, 2003)
