Had a good hand the last time I had been in the second hand shop around the corner and landed a capital bull's eye with the purchase of the DEKAPITATOR CD. On the back of the album it says 1999 as release year, but if it had said 1985 I would have devoured it just as much.
This is Thrash Metal, baby! Thrash Metal as it had only been played back in the 80s, with the right hand for catchy hooks and musical heaviness. Driving straight ahead, fast, loud and wild like a bull on LSD!! Damn, what an acoustical hellhammer!!!
Brought to us with a voice that sounds like a mix of Jeff Beccera from POSSESSED (more) and RAZOR's Stace 'Sheepdog' McLaren (less), the songs like "Release The Dogs", which reminds me a lot of WHIPLASH's "Power And Pain" album, "Possessed With Damnation" with some weird guitar parts a la NASTY SAVAGE or the following "Thunder Legions", which reminds me of ONSLAUGHT's "Let There Be Death" put a full volley right at you.
And who looks at the band logo with the "Infernal Overkill" skull of DESTRUCTION already knows what awaits him. And also the production of James Murphy (ex-AGENT STEEL, -CANCER, -OBITUARY, -DEATH, -TESTAMENT etc.) rocks like a goat.
With this album every old school Thrasher will be in seventh heaven. (Online April 24, 2003)
