When this little gem arrived I was hoping that it was going to be worthy of its artwork as this is so fucking cool looking. When I popped this into my CD player my wishes had been granted as this release is quite frankly an amazing album of technical Death Metal.
At first however the album didn't hit me as much as it has after a few listens and it does appear to be growing on me song after song listen after listen which thankfully shows that it does not suffer from the common Death Metal flaw of no life span.
"Brutality Is Law" is high tempoed Death Metal played very well with great tempo and style changes that use some fantastic short solos and nice lead riffing. The drumming is also perfectly fitting which great blast beats and rolls which a nice sound and a killer production. The vocals are quite standard but fitting and don't take away from the overall effect of this great album. Aside from fantastic lead guitar work the riffs themselves are suitably thick and heavy enough to devastate ear drums at high volumes and the tempo and style changes must again be mentioned as they add new dynamics to an already fantastic album.
Get this and you will not be disappointed! (Online May 26, 2003)
