Dark Funeral - Diabolis Interium
The Nordic blizzard of DARK FUNERAL sweeps through my room like a gale straight from hell. The opener "The Arrival Of Satan's Empire" makes no prisoners for sure. Fast, precise with icy-cold riffs! Yes, that's what we know them for! DARK FUNERAL always had been among the fastest bands on the whole and they haven't forgotten anything of their art. Quite the contrary, anno 2001 they sound more infernal than ever, more destructive!

But what is this? Song number 3 "Goddess Of Sodomy" comes over in slow-paced, stomping tempo. Sounds damn brutal, this song. More of that! After that follows the title-song, which is in "normal", speak hyper-speed, tempo again. Brilliant riff! Incredible drumming! This cold atmosphere stretches through the whole album, even despite not using any keyboards! That had always been the case with DARK FUNERAL and it still is today. Overall the drumming has turned more technical, but still is unbelievably fast! Oh, some more slow-paced sounds again, no, only the beginning, then the thrashing resumes! Brilliant! Hell, the song "Armageddon Finally Comes" is even faster. And the end is made up by something more mid-paced before the hammer rules once more!

DARK FUNERAL don't give a flying fuck about all trends and have released their most brutal and varied album to date. Extremele extreme stuff for friends of most extreme sounds. All, who have liked the band so far may await in glee the arrival of this night-black, stinking excrement of hell.
