The people who are crazy about damn heavy Death Metal could find something interesting in BATTLESWORD. They remind over long passages on BOLT THROWER. That means no hyper-fast speed explosions, but waltzing, pressing heavy feelings are on. And over that u get a basement-deep singing who really reminds one on the already mentioned British. Ok, BATTLESWORD also have adopted some Swedish riffs and that's why they are more melodic.
But, because we are dealing with a German band here, you have to admit, that they stand apart. The only comparison on a national basis could be MY DARKEST HATE. They both have the same musical direction. Now I am remembering, why the name tells me something…They where once on the second part of the ROCK HARD-Unerhört-Compilation.
So Death Metal lunatics, BOLT THROWER-fans or curious people, you get some real bombarding sound here, - the name has no real connection with the usual True-Metal-trallalla. They were once called BLOODSTRING, which really sounds more deadly then BATTLESWORD, or not? (Online May 25, 2003)
