Edenbridge - Sunrise in Eden
From almost all sides you get the name "Nightwish" fired at you, when it comes down to describing the sound of EDENBRIDGE. Now I ask: WHY?

OK, Sabine Edelsbacher is a female vocalist, sure, EDENBRIDGE's music is melodic and variable, but is that already reason enough to disqualify them as sound-alikes?

First of all, Sabine's voice is very different from Tarja's, because she doesn't sing in opera-esque style and the music goes into a related direction, but still both bands use so different means that you just cannot really compare them.

Who wants to hear for him/herself, should check out the swift "Cheyenne Spirit", the very variable title-track with its slight oriental list or the intensifying "My Last Step Beyond". But even in advance, I want to tell you not to judge this CD after one or two listens only, it needs more rotations to enfold like a blossom, revealing its full glory.

Overall a classy album that makes you hope for more, because after all it's only the debut...
