Fans of …AND OCEANS should take a look at this band. I know that they have been around for a while, but I have never heard of them until now and they are just awesome. The only way that these two bands differ is that …AND OCEANS music is more quirky when it comes to compositions. THYRANE's compositions are more straight ahead and done quite well.

There is a Pop vibe to the band with its synthetic sound, but works in their favour. The synthetic sound adds more atmosphere to the music that these guys play. "Human Weed" has tough guitar riffs, but they are catchy and carry a mid tempo pacing. Hardcore Black Metal fans may not want to hear this, but those who like a variety of sound in the genre should be open to what this band has to offer. "Firework" presents a cross between RAMMSTEIN and KMFDM. Still catchy and still entertaining. Most of the songs are in this vein, but carry different tempos of course. There are no furious blast beats that are usually provided in most Black Metal albums or intense guitar strumming that makes Black Metal so feared.

While the vocals are gritty and produce a black Metal vibe, I see this band more as Industrial Metal and that's fine. (Online September 19, 2003)
