"Heidiheidoeida" - who doesn't know this cult beginning, where after a scratch a scream pierces the air and then speed hell breaks loose? I am talking about "Fast As A Shark", one of the most important Metal cult songs ever. For the time this song was the fastest thing altogether. Just like the title song, an atmospheric hymn, which's chorus is drilling right into your brain!
The Solingen Metal band ACCEPT around screamer Udo Dirkschneider already had three releases prior to this one, the predecessor "Breaker" (1981) already had been a hellish brick for the time, but with the next album they wanted to get even heavier. And "Restless & Wild" was it. Mega hymns like "Princess Of The Dawn" you only write once in a lifetime. Who does not know this song may not call himself Metalhead. "Shake Your Heads", "Neon Nights" or "Demon's Night", all immortal classics of a band that has forged more Metal classics with songs like "Breaker", "Metal Heart" or "Balls To The Wall".
If "Restless & Wild" is the best effort by ACCEPT, I don't want to decide this. One of the most important it definitely is, because with "Princess Of The Dawn", "Fast As A Shark" and "Restless & Wild" they have written Metal history! Essential! (Online June 19, 2003)
