After DARK TRANQUILLITY and IN FLAMES it is GARDENIAN's turn to come back with a new album, titled "Sindustries". They, too, had started out as a typical Göteborg-Death Metal-band, but just like the other two bands they have consequently developed their own sound, but without betraying their roots.
Especially the use of clean vocals, which blend perfectly with the overall sound are a (future?) trademark of the GARDENIAN-sound of the year 2000. After ARTCH-vocalist Eirikur Hauksson (Eric Hawk) had filled that slot on "Soulburner", Jim Kjell by now has developed his own voice far enough to excel in that category as well.
With that the very varied compositions just get the little something they need, here aggressive, there emotional and calm. I want to pick out the opener "Selfproclaimed Messiah", with a very nice riff, the very melodic "The Heartless", the Double-Bass-driven "Doom & Gloom" and the ballad (no, I'm not kidding) "Funeral".
Don't let this album pass you by unnoticed!
