Yes, that's it!!! So and no different a reunion has to sound. Even though reunion is not really the right expression in the case of DESTRUCTOR as they never had been fully away anyway. But by now the band also musically is a ace up the sleeve again. They're back - back with a vengeance!
For all that do not know the band's name yet: The band hails from Ohio (Hello Cleveland!) and released its so far only album "Maximum Destruction" in 1985, where they delivered simple and damn heavy Power Metal. Now, 2003, the combo is back with an acoustic kick in the arse of the top class. "Sonic Bullet" is the title of this extended EP and thankfully nothing has changed. The guys still play their mix of EXCITER at "Violence And Force" days and old OVERKILL, whipping riffs, driving drum attacks, everything with power, power and some more power.
Melodies can be found, too, of course, but they are not an emphasis. For bombast Metalheads the album had not been conceived anyway. Speedies and Thrashers, though, can get this one without big doubts. Apart from two classics in live versions and the HAWKWIND cover "Master Of The Universe" the hammer is swung on six new songs, of which the title track, "Heavy Artillery" and "The Triangle" stand out most.
Welcome back, Boys!!! (Online August 13, 2003)
