Wizard - Head Of The Deceiver
Who loathes Metal-cliches doesn't even need to read any further! German WIZARD live their music and the attached clichés. When you look at the blood-dripping cover, then I as "older" Metal-fan just have to smile. Looks damn much like MANOWAR! So what, hit it, the music is what counts!

And that one is just as you might expect. Mostly fast and Metallic! And song-titles like "Defenders Of Metal" or "True Metal" clearly show what to expect even more. The deal with Limb Music has resulted in two changes in the WIZARD-sound. Fat choirs and the powerful sound! Both suits the band very well. I like their double-bass-driven hymns better than before, clearly German Metal with one or two references to US-Metal in some riffs! If you want to check them out, take the speedy opener "Magic Potion" or the following title-track "Head Of The Deceiver". After that you will be either infected or not! Posers won't even have to try it, hehe! Because people like you get beheaded by the WIZARD. See cover!

WIZARD won't ever win an originality-award, but I can attest the guys a very good True Metal-album and award them with eight fat points!
