Grimfist - Ghouls Of Grandeur
What we have here is a new band that features members from the now defunct IMMORTAL in which case it's the maniacal drummer Horgh and DERIDE. This is their debut CD and what a way to address the fans than with something equally evil and sinister as their former bands, but this time around they turn up the extremity notch to 11. The CD is also produced by Peter Tägtgren at the world famous Abyss studios. Hey, Pete, I thought you shut that place down?

The music is nothing short of causing epileptic seizures and making your ears ooze from constant exposure to the chaotic sounds of hell. The music is fast, tight and heavy as fuck! There is something in here for everyone in the Black, Death and Thrash scene. A little mixture of each that will satisfy all who wish to consume this release. "A World Of Wrath" packs a punch as usual, but add some clean vocals during the choruses which is odd, but quite cool to hear. Also, the solos in the song also just rule. So catchy, yet venomous. Bombastic and apocalyptic is the way to go here.

Need something to raise your blood pressure and pound your fist? Look no further then. Extreme Metal is on the rise again and it's worse than before. You are either with us or we plough you over. Simple as that! (Online September 25, 2003)
