Thrash Metal enjoys a really good time of late. Old veterans like DESTRUCTION, HOLY MOSES, SODOM and also KREATOR remember their roots and offer us strong albums. KREATOR have fond their old strength again and again have a lot of "extreme aggressions"! Finally fast songs again! And not without reason we have a cover-artwork reminiscent of "Coma Of Souls" again.
The last album "Endorama" hadn't been satisfying for most fans because of its rather Gothic-direction, "Violent Revolution" is a lot more hefty again, neither totally sounding like the old stuff nor trying any modern experiments. KREATOR just have grown into better song-writers, the songs are brilliantly arranged and have catchy choruses. If you take the furious opener "Reconquering The Throne" or the super-tight title-track, the melodic "Replicas Of Life" or the fat "All Of The Same Blood", all prime examples for Thrash! Maybe not all songs can keep this level, but I couldn't detect a really bad track on "Violent Revolution".
The song "Servant In Heaven - King In Hell" had already been presented to the fans on the Bang Your Head-festival. Speed-wise more mid-paced, with a great chorus. The new man on the six-strings, Sami Yli-Sirniö (ex-WALTARI) has been really integrated into the line-up and really has some very bright spots on the album and even Ventor is back with the party (again). His drumming here is top-notch, precise and fast, just like it has to be. "Second Awakening" is yet another highlight of the album, this song contains everything that KREATOR stand for in 2001, great breaker!
KREATOR for sure will take the fans' hearts by storm, because with a masterpiece like this one in their back the only way to go is up!
