It had been planned to be the last album of HYPOCRISY, so mainman Peter Tägtgren about the aptly titled "The Final Chapter". Even though it did not turn out to be true in the long run, the fans had to cope with the fact that the trio Tägtgren/Hedlund/Szöke had made their testament.
Musically the album was in tradition with "Abducted" and also the following albums, varied Death Metal, here fast and brutal, there atmospheric and melodic, through the melodies, guitars and Tägtgren's vocals always HYPOCRISY.
What is the same, too, is the fact that these different kinds of songs alternate, a hefty attack is followed by a slow-paced, mostly melody-driven song, so that there is no boredom for sure. As tips for the first category I'd pick "Dominion", "Adjusting The Sun" or "Evil Invaders", for the melodic half the strong "A Coming Race", "Request Denied" with its great melody-line and the closing almost funeral-hymn "The Final Chapter".
Fortunately the fans could persuade the trio that the band had not reached the end of their creativity, because in that case we would not have been able to welcome "Hypocrisy" and "Into The Abyss", which would have been a pity...
