Fuck, Mika and his band are already releasing their eighth album! After the Cyber-Black-Punk of their starts, "Nihil" and "Absence Of War Does Not Mean Peace" had showed us a new IMPALED NAZARENE, still brutal of course, but more melodic and that was not that far away from a certain CHILDREN OF BODOM. So, what's up with "All That You Fear"?
Well, IMPALED seem to be back on the road of their beginnings and are less melodic than in those last years. It's then quite punchy and rather fast, but we are still quite far from a "Suomi Finland Perkele"… and I also have to say that even if Mika keeps on screaming like a pig, his guitar friends are only composing really Hard Rock riffs, that would definitely sound good on an ACCEPT album! And concerning the drums, they still sound like any German Power Metal band… so we have a mix of styles here, that I would call Hard Black.
But behind this nice etiquette is only some kind of transition album, that's not so great. Let's leave them the time to find their own path and then we'll see! (Online November 24, 2003)
