This is a band about whom any decent extreme Doom fan, like those who like WORSHIP, SKEPTICISM or THERGOTHON, have certainly heard. This band from Paris, that's been existing since ages and has released numerous tapes and CDRs, finally comes with a very first album. And what an album! "Supreme Funeral Oration" is simply one of the best Doom albums released lately and is without any contest the best French Doom album of those last years.
Behind a really well done and nice packaging are laying six tracks, very slow and haunting, but not oppressive either, because all in all quite melodic and correctly rhythmed. A comparison will immediately come to mind when listening to DESPOND: MY DYING BRIDE! You can find here exactly the same gimmicks as in the UK band, with slow passages, arrival of melodic parts and growlings worthy of a bear's voice. But there's no need to tell you more, anyone interested or involved in Doom has to listen to that one… (Online January 3, 2004)
