Scariot - Deathforlorn
Well, drummer Anders Kobro had been with IN THE WOODS... and CARPATHIAN FOREST, vocalist Ronny Thorsen normally is with TRAIL OF TEARS, the title is "Deathforlorn", so what would be more logic than to stuff SCARIOT into the Death Metal-corner, especially with all those skulls on the cover?

So let's press play and...WHOA! *crash* Oops, got blown off my chair... This CD really rocks, ehm, metals! Crunchy Power Metal in the music, driving double-bass, varied guitars, some light keyboards and melodic Death Metal-vocals (yes, they do exist) and clean vox, too, partly in duet. Gentlemen, "Crimson Tears" has got it all!

Metalians, this album really gets it going and why had nobody tried his luck in combining Power Metal and Death Metal before? Listen to "Crimson Tears", "The Bad Man", the brilliant "Within" or "Remains Of Dreams" and you'll know what I am talking about.

Both thumbs up for one of the best newcomers of this year!
