In Flames - Black Ash Inheritance
The ever-forgotten IN FLAMES-Mini-CD named "Black-Ash Inheritance" was released just before the band's 3rd full-length album "Whoracle" and it should really be considered as a teaser for this record. The CD itself has an unearthly shape (IN FLAMES' now legendary Jesterhead), but let us not worry about image and concentrate on the content of this mini-jewel.

The album kicks off with "Goliaths Disarm Their Davids", a "Jotun"-style thrill-ride with a superb leading melody supported by crunchy aggressive rhythm guitars. The album would be worth buying even if it was just for this song (since it isn't available on any other IN FLAMES-record), but wait, there is more! Also included is the now classic "Gyroscope" (same version as on "Whoracle"), a lively acoustic ballad with familiar riffs and as the Grande Finale, a live version of "Behind Space", one of IN FLAMES' most brutal tracks with screeching vocals and heavy riffage. This is definitely a great addition to your IN FLAMES-collection. If you do not already own it, find it and buy it.
