The spray flies over the planks of the dragonship, driven by the force of the gale above the Northern Sea. The sail has been snatched up, its colour in stark contrast to the dark, broiling mass of deep-hanging clouds racing over the firmament. Tireless the crew is defying the onslaught of the weather, firm in their belief in the gods, holding their protective hand over their quest.
Without fear they watch the wave-crests and -troughs, the oars manned, driving the ship towards home on its way back from the prowl, driven by the sounds of the mighty AMON AMARTH.
This is pure power! Ever since their debut-mini-CD "Sorrow Throughout The Nine Worlds" AMON AMARTH have their secured place in my rotation and was "STTNW" already a strong strike of melodic Death Metal, so the Swedes finally have taken their rightful place among the elite with "Once Sent From The Golden Hall", because they combine super-crunchy riffs with epic, hymnic, majestic melodies, combined with the sometimes doomy, sometimes thundering rhythms a force to turn the tables in any battle, no matter how mighty the foe might seem.
The hymnic "Victorious March", the thundering "The Dragons' Flight Across The Waves", the fast "Once Sent From The Golden Hall" or the masterpiece "Amon Amarth"; more than eight minutes long, with its slow/stomping rhythm and its majestic melodies, this is the true music of the Gods, created to strengthen and support the warriors in their daily fight for survival.
The warrior ride once more To the mountain from which they came Once sent by the Gods to war And they never return in shame!
