Mystic Prophecy - Vengeance
After a short intro the first song sweeps over me like a tornado. This is Power Metal as it should be. With the Greek vocalist R.D. Liapakis (VALLEY'S EVE) and drummer Dennis Ekdahl (RAISE HELL) there are some more famous musicians on this album, bassist Martin Albrecht had been with STORMWITCH and VALLEY'S EVE until a short while ago himself. The experience of these full-blooded musicians can be heard with each tone of this album. Very tight playing and great vocals leave nothing to be desired. So to say every Power Metal-fan's wet dream!

With this debut this band already is in the top flight. The music is demanding yet never complex, the vocals more mid-pitched and very nice to listen to, no high screams or that here. This guy is great! The razor-sharp riffs and the precise double-bass-drumming - top-notch! From up-tempo over bombastic to balladesque passages you will find everything that great melodic Metal needs. The choruses also don't sound cheap and are beyond the nursery-rhyme-melody-attacks so many other bands use.

The fat production couldn't have been any better, too, so I am more than satisfied with the best newcomers of the still young year so far. Thumbs up!
