Even though the debut "Stairway To Fairyland" still is regarded as something immature by many, it still ranks amongst my favourite albums and "Crystal Empire" already is on its way to catch up with it in its status. Musically there haven't been big changes, in many cases fast, always epic Power Metal with really grand choirs is the banner of FREEDOM CALL.
Now that might not sound overly original, but only very few bands have such a warm sound, embedded in still crunchy guitars and who likes mighty choirs will find his paradise on earth with FREEDOM CALL.
After a short intro the band-hymn "Freedom Call" is a prime example of what to expect: fast, epic, melodious, catchy, but not flat. And apart from that? "Pharao", a very epic and widely arranged song, rather slow-paced, the very varied 7,5-minute-epos "Quest" or "Palace" with its multi-layered chorus. And with each and every track you have to add bombastic, grand, mighty choirs, which you just have to song along with, in connection with the catchy melodies just infectious!
If you're searching for a synonym for epic Power Metal, then you have found it in FREEDOM CALL!
