Xiron - Turn To Stone

Yessss, all-out Old School-Power is served by Osnabrück's XIRON! US-Power Metal in tradition of old veterans like OMEN, LIEGE LORD or ATTACKER. Don't expect stuff like HAMMERFALL or STRATOVARIUS, this is a nasty bastard and sounds as rough as real Metal should be.

The vocals are anything but polished, the voice of Michael Seifert (also with BLACK DESTINY) alternates between high screams and a bear-like baritone and will make every pseudo-trend-metalian's eyes pop out. The vox have balls and really suit the music! The real US Power Metal always has had voices like that!

So thumbs up and when there are such passionate songs like "Tormentor" or "The Killing Creed" (to pick out two by random), then I can only recommend to get this album, any which way! The cover is shitty, but that's just another connection to the above-mentioned bands. It's the music that counts and that is awesome, no fillers! The highlight of this album still is "Calamity Howler", a brilliant song, which can hardly be surpassed! Well done, guys!
