Paragon - Steelbound
Want some Power Metal? Oh, you don't want another band that sounds like HAMMERFALL, RHAPSODY or STRATOVARIUS? Then read on!

On their fourth album PARAGON once more deliver traditional, typically German Power Metal, which absolutely cannot be categorised as "Happy Metal", but comes over a whole lot rougher.

Thundering double-bass-grenades go along with powerful mid-tempo and Andreas Babuschkin's rough, yet not unmelodic voice suits the music very well. Here and there they remind me a little of bands like GRAVE DIGGER, but they do not sound like them (!), there is almost no sound that doesn't remind you of anybody else in one way or the other anymore.

The thundering "Thunderstorm", the forceful stomper "Deathsquad" or the almost CANDLEMASS-esque "Don't Wake The Dead" should be enough that there still is Power Metal that is absolutely worth getting!
