So now also SODOM are presenting us with their latest offering to the Thrash-revival. The boys around Tom Angelripper have managed to come up with an equally good cracker as their colleagues of DESTRUCTION, but in my opinion they could not reach KREATOR's latest divine offering, but that's a matter of taste!
Yet it is a fact that the Ruhrpott-combo has come up with a collection of more than remarkable Thrash-grenades. Especially the songs "Napalm In The Morning", "Little Boy", "M-16" and "Marines" sound just impressive. With good choruses they are catchier than ever, but still super-heavy! Not all songs can keep this high level, but the rest in no way sounds like fillers!
Musically and thematically they have returned towards "Agent Orange". The topic of the Vietnam-war is converted really sensibly and also believable. Very interesting also the lyrics, which make you start to think. But who still hopes that SODOM will return to their old "In The Sign Of Evil"/"Obsessed By Cruelty"-rumbling could be quite disappointed! You would not think this possible, but there really are creatures like these (Hello Hawk!)!
Be it as it may, SODOM have proved that they are not to be ruled out and I can hardly await the Triple-Thrash-attack together with KREATOR and DESTRUCTION in December. If my neck will survive that...
