Holy shit! I had almost written the Dutch troup off, but what they offer me here on more than 68 minutes is not only not bad, it's strong, very strong!
The foundation still is Death Metal, what can unmistakingly be heard at Patrick Savelkoul's voice, but what they build upon it is quite impressive. They show themselves very varied in their sound, from doomy to quite crunchy heaviness you'll get everything, and Patrick's voice ranges from shrieks over growls to gruff vocals, always depending on what the song demands. But they never neglect the melody and despite the sometimes almost progressive song-structure the songs always remain accessible without any compromises.
And they neither shrink back from traditional Metal-riffs nor do they refrain from breathed vocals, and with this all manage to neither sound like Göteborg nor the rest of Sweden.
A really strong effort of the Dutchmen, which I can only heavily recommend to all genre-fans!
