Truly kicking into a realm that they only possess, THE HAUNTED (2nd album) carve a sound that is all their own. An album that combines the thickest wall of sound that Speed Metal has built to date with the anger and anarchy of Death Metal. Musically its a flaming version of bay area-Thrash (like FORBIDDEN or TESTAMENT), almost towards Death, but it's played too perfectly, distorted melodies can be heard left and right.
Riffs from the dual guitarists are intense and heavy, mega-extreme in fine fashion under newcomer Marco Aro's vocals that are pissed off beyond belief (DARKANE). Songs just storm forward no matter what, graced with a dangerous, volatile edge that puts newcomers to shame. Ranks as one of the top Gothenburg-Melodic Death Metal-bands out there. Unfortunately, still one of the music business' best kept secrets.
